Neve at 10 months

Well what a difference a month makes!

Probably less than a week after my last Neve update, she started to move…and move rather quickly at that!

I had expected her to start commando crawling on her tummy and then push up onto her knees and bit more. And then after a bit longer she would start coasting around the furniture.

But no. My daughter has always been a stubborn one, and I believe her ethos was - “why crawl when you can coast!?”.

One day we were happily eating our tea, when Neve decided to pull herself up on our footstool, and then proceeded to move around the room holding onto whatever she could!

This activity was perfected for a few days, then she figured out she could get up from lying down too. This has made putting her to bed a challenge as she can protest a lot easier now by clinging onto the bars of her cot and crying - heartbreaking!

Fast forward a couple more weeks and she then decides she does need to crawl afterall, as there aren’t quite enough tables and sofas to mean she can coast around the whole house.

So now she can go pretty much wherever she likes!

While this makes me immensely proud, it also makes me incredibly scared! (Especially when she decides to let go completely!). Gone are the days of leaving her in the middle of my bed while I have a shower, or once she could sit up -leaving her to play by herself while I popped upstairs!

Besides moving about, her other favourite new skill is waving! She does it whenever we say “hello”, or “bye bye” to her, and she even does it when people come into thee room sometimes, and sometimes she waves at people on telly too!

The next few months are definitely going to be challenging and tiring, but I expect they’ll also be a lot of fun!

Let’s see what she manages to learn in the next month!

Some bathtime fun from earlier today.

Put little one to bed nice and early so I could get on with packing up our house for our trip away.
I think I’ve remembered everything, but luckily we’re not going anywhere that we won’t be able to have access to local amenities so we should be ok!

Just a little extra, a few months ago now, I posted a collage of Neve from Newborn to 8 months.

So to mark her turning one, here’s an updated version!

The finished result of my newest polish - Barry M Chameleon (pink version). It all starts off as the same colour but changes if you put top coat on. I’ve just done alternate nails but you could do stripes or another pattern. It goes on really nicely (similar to the foil effect polishes) and only one coat is needed. #nails #barrym (Taken with Instagram)

My ELEVEN month old!! Yikes!

Not going to do a massive post as i’m a bit late to be writing an 11 month update seeing as her 1 first birthday is only round the corner!!
So once we’re back from our holiday and have celebrated the special occasion I’ll do a nice big update!

Neve is getting even faster with her moving and is now starting to take a few steps on her own…the first time this happened I may have blubbed a bit!!

She had her 1 year review today with the health visitor and she said Neve is doing brilliantly, which was lovely to hear!

She’s also babbling away to herself loads now and has a new favourite action…pointing! Which then leads to me explaining whatever her chosen subject is! This can sometimes go on for a while when she’s being extra curious!!

She is a lot of fun at the moment and I can’t wait to spend loads of time with her on our holiday next week! 😄

Help! Baby’s naptime routine gone AWOL!

Neve is usually really good at going to sleep on her own, she’ll whinge for a minute or two but then settle herself.

Over the last couple of days though she has been more clingy due too teething pains. On top of this she’s also mastered standing up, and can pull herself up against her cot even after I’ve put her in it lying down-usually lying her down was my fail safe if I needed to run and do something!!

Today I have resulted in cuddling her to sleep for both of her naps then putting her in her cot once she’s asleep-not really a habit I want to get into!

Because she’s being more reluctant to sleep its messing up her routine which just makes everyone moody. She is tired, before anyone suggests skipping/delaying a nap, as she gets very clingy and rubs her eyes a lot.

If anyone has any suggestions I’d be glad to hear them. If not then at least I had a good rant!!
