Well that dreaded time arrived a few weeks ago and I am now a proper employee again. Actually, I’m only doing 3 days a week so I suppose that makes me a part-time employee instead! Either way, I’m back at work!!
Luckily, Neve gets to stay with her Granny on Wednesdays and Thursday so we don’t have to fork out for extortionate nursery fees.
Then on Fridays, I work from home in the mornings and then once Rich gets home around lunch time, he takes over and I go into the office for the rest of the day.
It’s all been working ok so far, apart from my alarm failing to go off one day which resulted in me having a mild panic attack! Pre-baby I wouldn’t even worry about such a thing as I could just get dressed and eat my breakfast in the car, but when you’ve got to organise everything for a mini person as well it takes a lot more time and effort! My mum kindly saved the day though and offered to feed Neve her breakfast at her house so I didn’t have to do as much as I normally would in the morning!
On my days off (which seem to fly by even quicker than before now there are less of them), we’ve been trying to cram in as much as possible.
The last few weeks have involved:
Neve also has unbelievably just turned 9 months old.
She’s still not decided on her next method of getting around and does a bit of backward crawling, a bit of bottom shuffling and a lot of walking around when holding onto someone or occasionally something!
Most of the time though she rolls wherever she wants and manages to get pretty much to her desired destination every time, so I’m not worried!
I’ve started thinking of birthday ideas for her and keep getting stuck, but I’m trying not to get carried away as everyone keeps telling me she won’t even realise it’s her birthday so there’s no point in spending loads of money - not that I can afford to anyway!
Things are still going with Two Birds Craft, but we’ve left off on the blog side rather a lot as it was taking over our life a bit too much! We’re still updating our Instagram feed with our progess regularly though and our Etsy shop has filled up nicely with goodies!
Will update again soon! X
A lovely weekend
It’s been a rather busy but also very nice weekend.
Yesterday me and Neve went to visit her Grandad. I don’t see my dad as often as I should, we are both rubbish at arranging a time to meet up and always have a nice time together when we do see each other then wonder why we left it so long!
Anyway…he lives in a teeny little village where everyone knows everyone, and yesterday they happened to be having a beer festival. So being the responsible parent I am, I thought this was the perfect activity for my 5 month old!!
On a more serious note, it wasn’t exactly a raucous affair as it ended at 8pm and it was such a small festival (the village town hall and a gazebo with a tv in to watch rugby on!) that a baby didn’t seem too out of place, and there were quite a few of them there so she was in good company!
She did seem to enjoy knawing on Grandad’s pint glass though, but I’m going to blame her teething rather than her enjoying the remnants of his beer!
Grandad also enjoyed showing off his drum skills to a captive audience…
Our day in the country went far too fast but I think the little one enjoyed making some new friends and getting lots of fresh country air!
My first mother’s day! Neve wrote me a very nice card, but I think she was more interested in eating it when it was time for me to open it..
We then had a nice roast dinner at the in-law’s and Neve had fun in her jumperoo that lives there as our house is too pokey!
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see MY mummy this weekend as she was busy working, but I made sure she got her card to open this morning and I’ll look forward to seeing her in the week. Oh and she is also a very clever granny as she made the pretty dress that Neve wore today!
Hope everyone else has had a nice weekend!
My last few days…
Friday, sunshine and a lovely picnic at the beach with my friend and her baby.
Saturday, shopping with Neve’s Nana and Great Grandma. She was very spoilt and got some lovely new clothes as well as the cool giraffe socks in the bottom right of the picture!
Sunday, a lie in and cuddle with my little lady followed by a morning of housework. Which included Neve being fascinated by the washing machine! She enjoyed watching the clothes spinning round whilst sitting in the laundry basket!!
Mr G is working tomorrow but then has the rest of the week off. On Tuesday we’re taking the little one to the aquarium which should be fun!
Hope everyone else had a nice weekend!
